![]() Classes take place on Saturdays, from 2.30 to 4pm and are suitable for children aged from 5 to 11. Each class costs Û15 per child and includes all materials. Classes are designed around the current exhibitions and take place both in the galleries and in the RHA studios. If parents wish to volunteer a helping hand, we would be most happy to have you on board. For bookings call (01) 6612558 or email frontofhouse@rhagallery.ie. Recycled Art! 27 February Recycled Art! Taking inspiration from the work of Nevan Lahart, children will be introduced to new ideas of making exciting artworks from everyday objects and recycled materials. This workshop will involve children using their imagination to create sculptural humans, animals and automobiles. Water works! 27 March Water works! Exploring the work of RHA Member Gary Coyle, children will have the opportunity to design and create their own seascapes and imaginary 3D sea creatures. In order to create sculptural masterpieces, children will have the opportunity to work with materials such as wire, plaster & card. Art & Abstraction! 17 April Art & Abstraction! For those budding young artists this workshop will act as an introduction to the techniques and concepts of abstract art. Children will create their own kaleidoscopes and view the world in colour, dots and shapes before developing their own abstract geometric creations. Become a photographer for the day! 29 May Become a photographer for the day! This workshop will introduce children into the methods and process behind taking photographs. Children will have the chance to learn the art of photography by making a pinhole camera box and developing their own pictures! Become a painter! 26 June Become a painter! Taking inspiration from the magnificent array of artworks held at the RHA's 180th Annual Exhibition, children will create their own artist sketchbook. Using their sketches, children will develop their drawings into finished artworks and create their own painted canvas. Summertime fun! 24 July Summertime fun! In this workshop children will have the opportunity to design and make their own kite! Focusing on colour, pattern and shapes children will develop their own creative kites, which will allow for endless summertime enjoyment! |
